Photo: Marco Melander & Kimmo Virtanen Lindfors created a new concept store for MARIMEKKO for fabric and fashion retail. The first store opened on the South Esplanade in the city centre of Helsinki, Finland in 1992, and a second store opened in Münich, Germany in 1993. Lindfors' interior design included lamps, coat hangers, and the tiles for the public rest rooms, all exclusive for MARIMEKKO. All surfaces of the interiors were stained wood in various qualities and colours. Lindfors' team included Aino Tirkkonen, Timo Pitkänen, Timo Sairi, Timo Salli, and Siri Wiherheimo. The “Marimekko Espa" shop received the "Best Interior Award" by the Finnish Association of Interior Architects (SIO ry) in 1993....
