“Aetherwing” Lands in Helsinki’s Klaus K

On August 14, 2025, during Helsinki Festival’s Night of the Arts, the lobby of Klaus K Hotel revealed its new permanent resident: Aetherwing.

“Aetherwing is my interpretation of the concept and attitude that Klaus K represents, and I’m glad to contribute to the atmosphere of this contemporary venue!” Stefan Lindfors.

The winged sculpture was specially commissioned for Klaus K and now forms an integral part of the hotel’s identity. More than a decorative element, Aetherwing transforms the mood of the lobby, offering an atmosphere that feels light, soaring, and just a little surprising. For guests arriving from Bulevardi, the piece immediately sets a tone that is both striking and welcoming.

When Aetherwing was first unveiled, visitors stopped mid-step. Unlike so many installations presented only for a single evening, this sculpture did not disappear once the event ended. It remains in place, permanently part of the everyday rhythm of Klaus K, encountered by guests checking in, enjoying a coffee, or simply passing through the lobby.

Unveiled during the festival, Aetherwing has now become a permanent symbol of Klaus K. The sculpture will continue to welcome guests and passersby for years to come, offering a reminder that in Helsinki, art and everyday life often meet in the most unexpected of places.

Where to see it: Klaus K Hotel, Bulevardi 2–4, Helsinki. Unveiled August 14, 2025 — now on view permanently.
