Photo: Marco Melander Following the EgO coffee cups designed by Lindfors for ARABIA in 1998 Lindfors continued his EgO collection by adding designs of plates, bowls etc. to his table ware line for ARABIA, later IITTALA. The EgO plates come in two sizes: smaller for the residential market, and larger for the commercial market (primarily restaurants). They are available in Arabia's traditional glazed off-white as well as with a dark grey edge-pattern that derives from Lindfors' 1998 “Alaris” fabric collection for Marimekko. The EgO plates were introduced to the international market at the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt in February 2000. The EgO containers (milk, sugar, vinegar, oil, spices, etc.) are the first items manufactured by Arabia that incorporate high-injection plastic. The precise but flexible plastic caps are designed to fit tightly in the ceramic containers despite the relatively loose tolerances inherent in ceramic production. The off-white container comes in two sizes, and the cap, which fits both container sizes, is available in red, white, black, and dark grey.
