NYMPH – Lamp

Some 15 years ago world renowned photographer Nan Goldin had an amazing show at the museum “KIASMA” in Helsinki. One evening on a walk, she spotted one of my older wall hung transparent sculptures in the window of an antique store, and she bought it for her residence in Paris. She insisted on me putting light inside before hanging it on the wall. I went to see her in Paris, and yes! Perfect. This resulted in a new show of mine called “Light Works” in 2011 (Helsinki, Washington DC, New York). Transparent wall hung sculptures – all with light inside. Now, when designing products for our own brand stefanlindfors®, I decided to include an industrial version of my earlier light sculptures for our collection. A transparent blueish shell on the wall, carrying a strange body. Use the remote to create shadows, or sipmly leave her shining quietly in the dark. We call our lamp “NYMPH”.
